In the beginning... |
a bush block was found |
it was pretty rough |
with a lake in the middle. |
First, access was made |
so the trucks could roll in |
many pipes were needed |
and buried in the ground |
the lake was then drained, |
and no one gave up. |
First stake in the ground |
the trees were felled |
hills were flatened |
and gullies filled in, |
then contours were formed |
till a rough track emerged. |
Concrete by the truckload |
around 2.5 kms |
complete with rumble strips |
not so rough now ! |
Endless working bee's |
then ready to seal. |
First layer of 3 |
and the track takes shape |
Layer 2 goes down |
with great care |
and then layer 3 |
till the circuit is complete |
and Bill takes a walk |
and admires the view. |
But no rest yet |
safety came next. |
Fence posts by the hundred |
both inside and out |
many blocks made the base |
then steel puzzel solved |
till a building emerged |
and soared up high |
before the weather packed in |
floors were then sealed |
and glass closed us in |
with views superb. |
Flag points x 6 |
the starts nearly finished |
and soon we'll show green. |
Opening day finaly came |
and the sun shined bright |
speeches were made |
while all looked on |
and the ribbon finally cut ! |
